Our Principal, Vice-principals, Assisting Principal and teachers prepare for the lessons, do class observation and do evaluation after lessons altogether, and study how to incorporate the concepts of Collaborative Inquiry into all classes.

 

Gifted Education School Network Initiative
Joining the Gifted Education School Network Initiative (2018-2021), our school exchanged practical experiences of how to incorporate the elements of gifted education while designing our lessons with other schools.

Our Principal, Dr. Chan Chun Ping, and our Mathematics Panel Chairperson, Mr. Chan Kin San, shared their experiences in the seminar of Gifted Education organized by the Education Bureau.
The title of the seminar was “Incorporating STEM Related Elements into the Regular Classroom to Enhance Mathematical Exploration Skills of Gifted/More Able Students”.

Our Biology teacher, Ms. Chan Wing Man, opened her lesson on 30 th April 2019 to teachers from other schools and officers from the EDB. The elements of gifted education were incorporated in her lesson.

Our Mathematics Panel Chairperson, Mr. Chan Kin San, opened his lesson on 17 th May 2019 to teachers from other schools and officers from the EDB. The elements of gifted education were incorporated in his lesson. Mr. Chan also shared his experience of opening his lesson during the sharing sessions of the Gifted Education School Network.

 

Programme on Planning Life Education in Primary/Secondary Schools
Our school has joined the programme on Planning Life Education in Primary/Secondary Schools (2020-2022).

 

Innovative Programme
Ms Chan So Yee was successfully selected to join the 5 th InnoPower@JC: Fellowship for Teachers Scheme of Ednovators. She experimented with innovative activities and courses called “Dreams in Rhenish” at our school, in which elements like social issues, service learning, design thinking and growth mindset are incorporated. Apart from receiving professional training, Ms Chan will join the academic exchange tours to other countries or regions with Ms Ching Wing Sze and Ms Choi Lai Ying.

 

Pilot Scheme of the revised curriculum of Chinese History
In 2018-19, our Chinese History teachers joined the Pilot Scheme, made suggestions on the revised curriculum, designed and adapted the teaching and learning resources according to the students’ interest and abilities. These resources may be collected and compiled as a resource pack, and distributed to all schools in Hong Kong in the future. Hopefully, these resources will benefit other teachers as well.

Our Panel Chairperson of Chinese History, Ms Tang Nga Lee, was invited to be the guest speaker during the Sharing Session of the learning circle on 8 th June 2019 (Saturday). The title of her sharing was “Sharing – how to make good use of historical issues to strengthen students’ self-directed learning abilities”.

 

School-based Support Programmes offered by the Education Bureau
2018-19
Our school participated in the School-based Support Programme of Chinese Language, evaluating and optimizing the senior secondary curriculum, adding more extended and reflective parts so as to enrich students’ knowledge and widen their horizons.
2017-18
Our school participated in the School-based Support Programme of English Language, studying teaching and learning strategies about how to enhance students’ reading and writing skills.

 

Implementing the pedagogy of “Sharestart”
Some teachers studied and implemented the pedagogy of “Sharestart”, and participated in the Annual Conference of “Sharestart” in Taiwan and relevant class-observation exchange activities. During the open lessons among the 20 th anniversary celebration activities, our teachers exchanged views with other teachers implementing “Sharestart”. The founder of “Share Start”, Mr Chang Hui-cheng, who was from Taiwan, was  invited to give a speech on “Flip Education of Sharestart” during the 20 th anniversary celebration activities.
